Originally built in 1900, The Lorax House redevelopment was a true labor of love.  The property is an excellent architectural example of turn of the century vernacular worker housing.The building itself suffered from severe neglect as years of vacancy and weather infiltration nearly destroyed the structure.2

1Major water infiltration thanks to a neglected roof compromised the inside of the structure causing severe damage throughout.

As a result of extensive wood rot the interior of the building had to be torn out and rebuilt from the inside out.  This became a major construction undertaking as the danger of roof collapse coupled with cracked support beams created and interesting challenge to ensure the properties preservation.3

staircase before & afterFortunately, not everything inside was lost.  The woodwork that was not completely far gone will be salvaged. We are also in the process of restoring the original gorgeous oak staircase.

We understand that energy efficiency is important to our future clients. No one wants to live in a historic structure and have to contend with costly energy bill! The building itself is wrapped internally in high efficiency spray foam insulation and has been fully redone to adhere to 2014 building codes.  We will also incorporate energy efficient lighting and water conservation fixtures throughout each unit. 6


The structure holds 5 Luxury Apartments each completely transformed. The building boasts high end finishes including all new cabinetry, granite counter tops, high definition 12-mm bamboo laminate flooring and beautiful porcelain tiled baths.

We understand that the safety of our tenants is of paramount concern.  As such we also too steps in our development to ensure maximum comfort and protection.  Each unit will include monitored alarms as well as secured gated parking and closed circuit high definition cameras throughout.  7
