Our Story:

One of the many reasons we love old buildings is because of the story each one tells and the journey they ultimately travel.  The building was originally built in 1918 as a two story two family flat.  During the time leading to the super bowl boom of 2006, another developer purchased the property.

They blew out the roof, added a third level and rear bump out with decks.  Their plan was to build five large for sale condos.  They called the development the Retsel house.

The great recession of 2007/2008 imploded the Retsel house and the developers dream.  In 2008 the property was lost to tax auction.  In 2009 it would be sold for a mere $12,000 to a speculator.

It would be quickly flipped for profit two more times.  We toured the site May of 2010.  Back then the city’s resurgence was a glimmer and the Q Line was only a speculative discussion. We were a young company and far from the development company we have become.

We took a risk and speculate on the areas eventual resurgence.  We charged up our line of credit and hoped for the best having no real clue of how difficult the journey ahead would be.

We had many false starts over the years due to funding.  We would build Lorax, Up, Wonderland and JD Baer with private loans before we gained enough experience to convince a bank to take a risk on us. In 2017 we convinced a community development agency, Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), to take a chance and finally set in motion a viable plan.  It’s befitting that as we embark on our 10 years of existence this should be the project we complete.

We are an immigrant owned company following many before us who have forged and molded this great city.

We are Dreamers!  This is our blood, sweat and tears; our struggles, trials and tribulations to beat the odds.  Few believed and too many doubted.

This project is our testament that the American Dream is still alive!

Dreamers change the world.  Dream!
